Never Say Never Again

Chapter 1

Three months into trying for a baby, Leen saw a message on her husband Young Scott's WhatsApp from someone named Secretary Jennie Brown.

[The new lingerie I bought seems a little tight. How about you come over and help me see if it fits?]

Beneath the text was a selfie of a woman wearing a deep V red slip dress, her breasts half exposed, as tempting as possible.

Her grip on the phone tightened instinctively.

She scrolled up and found that their previous conversations had been about normal work exchanges, but she couldn't help but furrow her brows.

Had it been sent by mistake? Or...

A hand from behind her wrapped around her waist, interrupting her thoughts.

Young's hot body pressed against hers, and he lightly bit her earlobe.

"Baby, I've already showered. Do you want it on the sofa, or in the bedroom?"

Before Leen could react, he effortlessly lifted her horizontally and placed her on the sofa, his tall figure coming down over her.

"Since you're not saying anything, I'll choose for you. Let's do it here on the sofa."

His voice was hoarse, and the fire in his gaze made Leen's face flush.

She was already quite attractive, with her cheeks glowing like a ripe peach under the light, enticing anyone who looked.

Young's eyes grew darker, and he lowered his head to kiss her lips, but she suddenly turned her head away.

Sensing her resistance, Young looked down at her, his expression full of confusion.

"Baby, what's wrong?"

The man, usually cold and decisive at work, now looked at her with a pitiful expression, making her heart soften. But she hadn't forgotten the explicit selfie just moments ago.

She stretched out one hand to push against his chest, the other holding the phone screen in front of his face.

"You better explain this to me."

Young glanced at the screen, and his brows immediately furrowed. He snatched the phone from her and dialed a number.

The call was answered quickly.

"Mr. Scott, how can I help you?"

Young's face darkened, his voice as cold as ice.

"How did I not know that Secretary Jennie had changed professions to pick up clients?"

There was a brief silence on the other end, and then Jennie's panicked voice came through, "Mr. Scott, I'm sorry, those two messages were meant for my boyfriend... I must have accidentally sent them to you..."

"If there's a next time, pack up and get out!"

He hung up and turned back to Leen, his expression softening, even carrying a hint of grievance.

"Baby, she just made a mistake. If you're still angry, I'll fire her tomorrow. But it's already late. Don't waste time on someone who's not worth it. We haven't seen each other in a week. Tonight, you have to make it up to me!"

He pulled her waist and kissed her again.

However, although the situation was explained, Leen's mood had already been ruined, and she lost all desire for intimacy.

She pushed Young away. "I'm a bit tired tonight... let's continue tomorrow."

Disappointment flashed in his eyes, but he didn't force her.

"Okay, rest first. I'm not tired. I'll go work in the study for a bit."

"Mm."

In the middle of the night, the rain began to pour outside.

Leen woke up to the sound of the rain and reached out to touch the side of the bed—cold.

She turned to check the time: 3:16 AM.

Still working in the study?

She got up, threw on a robe, and walked to the study. She pushed the door open, only to find it pitch black—Young wasn't there.

Her fingers instinctively clenched the doorknob, and a sinking feeling spread in her chest.

"Ding dong!"

Her phone suddenly chimed, the sound jarring in the silent night.

Seeing the stranger's profile picture on the friend request, Leen had a gut feeling that once she accepted it, there would be no turning back with Young.

At that moment, a loud thunderclap from outside startled her, and she accidentally rejected the request.

The person immediately sent a few more friend requests.

[Not asleep yet? Is it because your husband isn't with you?]

[I'm scared of the thunder and power outage, but he's come over to keep me company.]

[Don't you want to know where your husband is right now?]

...

Leen's hand trembled as she held the phone.

After a long pause, she finally accepted the request.

The moment she did, the person sent her an address and a string of numbers.

Leen bit her lower lip, grabbed the car keys, and drove out.

She arrived at the villa gate just after 4 AM. She entered the numbers from the message, and the door opened.

The living room lights were on, and from the entryway to the bedroom, there was a trail of scattered men's suits and women's lingerie, clearly showing how rushed the two had been.

When she saw the shredded red slip dress at the bedroom door, Leen felt a ridiculous sense of inevitability.

It was only a few meters from the entryway to the bedroom, but to Leen, it felt as though the distance had drained all her strength. When she stood at the bedroom door, a feeling of dizziness overtook her.

She shakily reached out and slowly pushed the door open.

The disheveled bed, two naked bodies entwined, their heavy breathing filling the room—it was a scene so obscene it hurt her eyes.

They were so absorbed in each other that they didn't even notice her standing at the door.

Leen's hand, which had been gripping the doorframe, turned pale, the whiteness of her palm bruised by the pressure.

Chapter 2

She had been with Young for eight years, from campus to the wedding, a couple envied by all their friends.

Before today, she never imagined that the word "betrayal" would come between them.

But now, reality had dealt her a cruel blow.

No matter how perfect the vows were, they couldn't withstand the fickleness of the human heart.

She felt disgusted and couldn't bear to watch any longer. She turned and stumbled out of the door, starting the car and driving away.

Passing a bar on the street, Leen parked and walked inside.

When Vivian Shawne arrived, Leen had already drunk two bottles of whiskey, her gaze hazy.

"Vivian, you're here..."

Seeing Leen surrounded by several male models, Vivian furrowed her brows.

"Everyone, leave!"

"Don't! They're fine here..."

"Leave!"

After chasing the models away, Vivian sat next to Leen. "What happened?! Did Young really cheat on you?!"

Vivian and Leen had been college roommates, witnesses to their relationship from campus to wedding.

She had seen how good Young had been to Leen, so hearing that he had cheated, her first reaction was to wonder if there was some misunderstanding.

Hearing Young's name, Leen's gaze darkened, and the heart-wrenching pain swept over her once more.

"I don't want to hear his name right now."

She raised her glass and drank it all in one go.

Over the years, she had never imagined that Young would betray her.

When she saw him in bed with another woman, it felt like a thousand arrows piercing her heart.

"I just... I just feel like, he loves you so much, he doesn't seem like someone who would cheat. Is there maybe some kind of misunderstanding here?"

Leen let out a cold laugh. "I saw it with my own eyes. Can you still call it a misunderstanding?"

The room fell silent instantly. Seeing Leen drink one glass after another as if she had no regard for her life, Vivian couldn't help but snatch the glass from her hand.

"Even if he really cheated, you shouldn't punish yourself like this by drinking. What... what are you planning to do next?"

"Of course I'm getting a divorce," Leen said, her voice hoarse. "Just thinking about seeing him with that woman in bed makes me sick."

Looking at the redness in her eyes and the unwillingness there, Vivian's heart ached for her.

"Don't think about it right now. You need to rest. Once you're calm, you can decide what to do. Let me take you back."

Leen shook her head. "No... I don't want to go back."

Once she returned to that house, she would be haunted by the image of Young cheating. Every time she thought about it, she'd be disgusted all over again.

Seeing the resistance in her eyes, Vivian didn't insist. "Then I'll book you a hotel."

After booking the hotel, Vivian drove Leen to the entrance, still a bit uneasy. "Are you sure you don't want me to take you upstairs?"

Leen shook her head. "No, you go back and rest. I'll be fine."

Waving the room key at Vivian, Leen stepped out of the car and walked toward the hotel. Seeing her walk steadily, Vivian finally let out a breath, watching her enter the hotel before driving off.

What Vivian didn't know was that when Leen was drunk, she appeared no different from usual. At a glance, she seemed sober, but her mind was already a muddled mess.

Clutching the room key, Leen entered the elevator. After swiping the card, the door closed, and the elevator started moving up.

Soon, with a "ding" sound, the elevator doors opened.

The moment she stepped onto the carpeted floor, Leen's legs buckled, and she almost fell.

She braced herself against the nearby wall, managing to stay upright, rubbing her aching temples as she staggered forward, looking for her room number.

But the alcohol had begun to take effect, and everything in her vision was blurry. When she saw room 8919, she instinctively pressed the room card against the door.

Not hearing the usual "beep" sound that signaled the door opening, she frowned and was about to push the door, when suddenly it swung open.

Leen froze for a moment, not yet reacting, when a large hand grabbed her and pulled her into the darkness.

Bang!

As the door slammed shut, the light from outside was instantly cut off.

Leen was pressed against the door, and the man's aggressive scent washed over her ear, causing her to involuntarily shudder.

The fragrance of pinewood filled the air. It seemed familiar, but before she could react, a warm sensation pressed against her lips.

"Mm..."

Realizing what was happening, Leen immediately tried to struggle.

However, the man was much stronger, and with the alcohol still affecting her, her hands, which were pushed against his chest, felt weak. Rather than resisting, it almost felt like she was on the verge of giving in.

The man's heated hands roamed over her body. Everywhere he touched felt like it had been scorched by fire, sending waves of heat through her, and her body grew weaker and weaker.

She tried to push the man off her, but he effortlessly caught her hands, pinning them above her head.

"Let... let go..."

The man pulled away from her lips, letting out a low laugh. "Don't bother with the pretense."

His fingers moved toward the collar of her shirt, cool to the touch, causing her to shiver involuntarily.

His body temperature seemed to be melting her, and her legs grew even weaker.

In the darkness, her sense of touch was amplified.

Leen could feel his fingers unbuttoning her shirt, one by one, and she could hardly breathe, her remaining sense of reason telling her that if this continued, it would go too far.

"Let me go!"

She mustered all her strength to push against him, but he easily hoisted her off the ground and threw her onto the bed.

The bed was soft, and Leen didn't feel pain from the fall, but the impact made her head spin even more.

She struggled to get up, but a tall figure pressed down on her.

Soon, her clothes were completely removed, and both of them were almost completely naked.

The man's body pressed tightly against hers, his presence almost suffocating.

Leen couldn't stop shuddering from his invasive scent. She pushed against his chest with her hands, biting her lip hard, forcing herself to stay conscious and calm.

"Sir, I think I've entered the wrong room. Please let me go..." Her voice trembled slightly from fear.

Chapter 3

"Tch!"

The man sounded impatient, his voice cold. "Seems you've enjoyed this too much, huh?"

Just as Shein was about to get up and tell her to leave, the room lights suddenly flickered on.

It turned out that when Leen had been struggling, her hand had inadvertently hit the light switch.

The sudden light made Shein squint, and when he saw the frightened woman lying beneath him, his face changed instantly.

At the same time, Leen also saw who it was, and her pale face turned ghostly white. Her foggy mind cleared up in an instant.

She hadn't expected... the man who almost violated her would be Shein, Young's little uncle.

"Uncle..."

Leen had always been somewhat intimidated by Shein.

He was the youngest son of the Scott family, spoiled by both the elderly Mr. and Mrs. Scott, and his behavior was unpredictable and cold. Not just the Scott family, but even outsiders didn't dare to provoke him.

When she first married Young and visited the elders of the Scott family, Young had warned her not to interact too much with Shein.

"Shut up!"

Shein's face darkened as he glared at her, his eyes as cold as ice, as though considering the possibility of silencing her permanently.

However, when his gaze shifted to her chest, it suddenly darkened.

He turned away, standing up from the bed with a cold voice. "Get dressed and get out."

The moment he stood up, Leen's eyes inadvertently caught a glimpse of something she shouldn't have.

She froze for a moment, then quickly averted her gaze, her ears flushing red.

Seeing her blushing face, Shein's expression grew even darker.

"Still not leaving?"

Leen couldn't care about the awkwardness. She hurriedly picked up her clothes and hastily put them on, not looking back as she fled from the room.

Only when she was outside the room did she dare to look back at the room number. When she saw it clearly, she realized why Shein had said she was "playing hard to get."

That wasn't 8919 at all—it was 8916!

She had walked into the wrong room and almost had an intimate encounter with her husband's uncle...

With that thought, Leen's headache from the hangover worsened.

If she had only let Vivian take her upstairs earlier, she wouldn't have made such a mistake.

But now, it was too late to regret...

Inside the room, after Leen had left, Shein's face darkened further as he dialed a number.

"Delete all the security footage from Crowntown tonight!"

After giving the order, Shein looked at the disheveled bed and blankets, lit a cigarette, and his irritation grew even deeper.

Almost slept with his nephew's wife—what the hell kind of mess was this?!

On the way home, Leen hesitated for a long time but finally decided to send a message to Shein, who she hadn't contacted for three years.

[Uncle... can we pretend tonight never happened? I was really drunk and walked into the wrong room.]

She waited for a long time, but Shein didn't respond.

Leen frowned, sending another message.

[?]

However, just as the message was sent, a red exclamation mark appeared in front of her.

The other party has enabled friend verification; you are not yet their friend...

Leen pursed her lips. He must have deleted her; he probably didn't want to bring this up anymore. With that thought, she finally let out a breath of relief.

By the time she got home, it was already past six in the morning.

As soon as she opened the door, she saw Young sitting on the sofa.

Hearing the door open, he suddenly turned his head. His eyes were bloodshot, clearly showing that he hadn't slept the whole night.

"Leen, where did you go last night? I called you more than ten times, why didn't you answer?"

Young stood up quickly and walked towards her, reaching out to take her hand, but Leen pulled away.

He froze for a moment, about to say something, but Leen, with a cold expression, spoke first. "If you can stay out all night, why can't I?"

Leen had always had a good temper, and they had been together for eight years without ever raising their voices. This was the first time she spoke to him with such coldness.

Noticing her change in tone and seeing the redness in her eyes, Young's eyes flickered, and the hand that had been hanging by his side tightened.

"You know, don't you?" His voice was calm, with no fluctuation or panic, as if he had been expecting this moment all along.

Seeing his unrepentant expression, all the emotions Leen had been holding back suddenly erupted.

She picked up her bag and threw it at him, her eyes bloodshot like a madwoman.

All the good things he had done for her, all the moments of happiness they had shared, were shattered the moment she saw him in bed with another woman. They could never be pieced together again.

"You, Young, how could you do something so disgusting?! If you don't love me anymore, just divorce me! Why do you have to treat me like this?!"

She had once thought that there could never be a third party between them, but reality had slapped her hard in the face.

It had slapped her awake from the false reality he had woven around her, turning her love for him into a joke.

Seeing the redness in her eyes, Young's heart sank. He grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms.

"Leen, I'm sorry..."

Leen pushed him away forcefully, trying to laugh, but tears kept falling.

"Don't touch me with your filthy hands!"
