A Second Chance to Realize His Lies

Chapter 1

Suddenly, my house's digital lock opened, and Mike burst in with his worthless friends.

In my previous life, after I jumped, he had proudly recorded a video to show off to them.

"Jennifer, how dare you refuse to die with me?"

"If you truly loved me, you should find a tall building and jump right now!"

I pointed at the 2000-square-meter mansion behind me, laughing so hard I could barely stand straight:

"What gives you the right to ask me to die with you? I have billions in assets to inherit, while you - you only have your heart, and even that's rotten."

Mike froze, his perfectly maintained facade cracking. He looked awkwardly at his friends.

They started jeering: "Mike, didn't you say Jennifer was your dog, that she'd do anything you told her to? You can't even manage this!"

In my previous life, I had indeed been blind with love. I did everything Mike said, spent over a hundred million on him, and in the end, he tricked me into jumping just to test my obedience.

Then he seamlessly moved on and rushed into marriage after my death.

My parents had good reason for refusing to let me marry him.

Mike gritted his teeth and grabbed me: "You bitch, you've completely humiliated me today. I'll teach you a lesson."

I tried to run, but he grabbed my hair.

He proudly told his friends: "Let me show you how I train my dog!"

I never expected that when I refused to die with him, Mike would bring people directly to my home.

Now I deeply regret my carelessness. Why didn't I change the house's security code as soon as I was reborn?

I was alone in the mansion.

When my parents opposed my relationship with Mike, he had encouraged me to block them and cut off all contact.

He had even made me fire the housekeeper and security guards, and all the money that should have gone to their salaries went to him instead.

He said there are no children in this world who don't love their parents. The more I tortured myself, the more my parents would hurt, and they would accept him for my sake. Then we could get married.

"Mike, let go of me! Don't you believe that one phone call to my father, and he'll come beat you to death?"

Mike threw me violently to the floor, stepping on my face: "You've cut ties with your parents for a month. They're ignoring you. Do you think they still care about you?"

I tried to take out my phone to call the police, but Mike kicked it away. The phone landed in the swimming pool and sank.

I lay on the ground in pain, filled with regret.

Back then, my parents had earnestly advised me that Mike had no education, no job, and poor character - he wasn't marriage material.

But I was obsessed with his handsome face and sweet talk. I believed him when he said that if I suffered enough, my parents would pity me and agree to our marriage.

Now, no one would come to save me! I had to save myself!

This couldn't continue. If it did, I would be beaten to death!

I pretended to be pitiful, trying to appease Mike: "Mike, I was wrong. I'll listen to you, just please let me go!"

Seeing me soften, Mike removed his foot.

He pointed at my disheveled form, showing off to his friends: "See? I have ways to make her obey."

"With women, first sweet talk them. If they don't listen, beat them. None can resist!"

Everyone laughed at me, and I forced myself to laugh along.

Mike, enjoy your victory now. You'll regret this later!

Chapter 2

I pointed at the wine rack: "Would you like some wine? Those bottles were imported by my father - they cost hundreds of thousands, even millions per bottle!"

Once they're drunk, that's when I'll take my revenge!

Mike's friends looked at him, and he acted like the owner: "Go ahead, drink!"

They cheered and rushed to the wine rack.

These people were already treating Mike like the mansion's owner.

Mike watched their uncouth behavior with cold eyes: "Bunch of ignorant fools!"

He turned to me proudly: "I already switched out your family's wine and sold it. Those are all fake..."

I gave him at least 20,000 in pocket money every month, yet he still sold my family's wine. Such an ungrateful wolf.

I smiled along: "It's fine, it won't kill them. I'll go buy some snacks."

As I tried to leave, Mike grabbed me: "Come back. Your job is to serve me, not them. I'm not hungry, no need to buy food."

I wanted to bash Mike's head in, but right now, alone against over ten adult men, I clearly stood no chance.

Mike hugged me tenderly: "Jennie, you've been causing trouble for a month, but your parents still won't let you marry me."

"Today is your birthday. Let's die together, okay? Once you're dead, they'll surely regret it and suffer for life."

I clenched my fists, veins bulging on my hands.

Yes, my parents would regret it and suffer for life.

While he would live happily, trampling on their pain!

I broke free from his embrace, acting foolishly devoted like before: "You're right. Why don't I call my parents first? Let them start worrying now. When they see my corpse, they'll be even more heartbroken!"

Mike gave me a thumbs up, laughing: "Jennie, you're brilliant!"

I carefully asked: "Could I borrow your phone? Mine's broken in the pool."

Mike tossed his phone to me like he was giving alms.

I walked away while dialing my father's number.

I turned around to see Mike right behind me.

He was being so cautious!

I asked Mike: "Where should we die together?"

Mike blurted out: "Golden Tower. That building belongs to your family. This way your parents will pass by where you died every day on their way to work. They'll be even more heartbroken."

Golden Tower - where I died in my previous life.

He couldn't help laughing uncontrollably, seemingly already picturing my parents' regret after my death.

I dialed my father's number. As soon as he answered, he started cursing: "Mike, you shameless dog! How dare you call me? Want one million? Keep dreaming!"

No wonder my parents opposed my relationship with Mike - he had asked my father for one million behind my back. How dare he!

"My daughter is just temporarily confused. She'll surely wake up!"

Tears suddenly rolled down my face as I choked out: "Dad, I... I'm going to die with Mike. He's making me jump from Golden Tower's roof. I'm at our South City villa now."

My father shouted anxiously: "Darling, don't go! Keep Mike there, Dad's coming right away!"

Mike snatched the phone, hung up, and slapped me.

"You bitch, no wonder you wanted to call your father. Trying to send him a message, huh?"

He dragged me toward the door: "Let's go jump now. Your father can arrive just in time to see your corpse!"

I held tightly to a garden statue: "I won't go! If you want to die, die alone!"

Mike gripped my chin, smiling grotesquely: "I won't die. Tomorrow I'm getting my marriage license with an even richer heiress. I'll live happily ever after. I'll show your parents the price of looking down on me."

Mike called to his friends: "Stop drinking! Help me get her to Golden Tower's roof. Let's watch this rich girl jump, haha..."

Chapter 3

They tied me up, gagged me, and carried me through the back entrance of Golden Tower to the roof.

Standing by the railing, looking down forty or fifty meters made me dizzy.

"Mike, this is deliberate murder. If I die, you won't live either!"

Mike looked unconcerned: "It's a love suicide, understand? It was your idea, and you're jumping by choice. What does it have to do with me?"

Mike pulled up our chat history.

Two weeks ago, I had messaged him: If we can't be together in life, we'll be together in death. I want the whole world to know our love is witnessed by heaven and earth.

I wished I could go back and slap some sense into my foolish past self.

Was it worth repeatedly hurting my loving parents for a worthless, vicious man?

Now, I had to stall for time.

I pretended to plead with Mike: "I have money. However much you want, I can give you!"

But Mike didn't believe me: "Facing death and trying to buy time?"

"You think I don't know you don't even have 1,000 dollars left?"

I suddenly understood why Mike was forcing me to jump. Besides wanting revenge on my parents for looking down on him, it was because I had run out of cash.

"I have money. My father opened a Swiss account for me with a billion yuan dowry."

Mike released his grip on me, face full of joy: "Why didn't you say so earlier?"

"Quick, transfer the money to me, then I'll have enough to marry you."

I stared at the beautiful woman who appeared behind him and asked coldly, "Say it louder - you'll marry me if I transfer one million to you?"

Mike excitedly shouted at me, "Jennifer, I'm willing to marry you!"

An angry voice rang out: "Mike, say that again - who are you going to marry?"

The color visibly drained from Mike's face.

He froze for a moment, then furiously yelled at me, "Weren't you just on the phone with your father? How did she get here? How do you know her?"

He grew flustered, frantically running his hands through his hair. "What do I do? What do I do? What about my dreams of being a wealthy family's son-in-law?"

Mike looked at me sinisterly and whispered in my ear, "I won't let you ruin me."

I doubled over laughing. "Oh really? Watch what happens next - I'll show you exactly how your dreams of marrying into wealth get completely shattered!"

I walked over to Jasmine and gave her a big hug. "Long time no see! You're a bit late - you'll have to make up for all the hurt I just went through!"

Jasmine held my face tenderly, "I'm so sorry, baby. I rushed over as soon as you contacted me. Just wait - I'll get revenge for you!"

Contacting Jasmine was the first thing I did after my rebirth.

In my previous life, only after I died and my soul wandered did I discover that Mike's fiancée was my high school classmate, Jasmine.

Jasmine had been studying abroad, and we hadn't communicated much these past few years.

Mike had used my money to package himself as a super-rich heir, successfully capturing Jasmine's heart.

I hadn't contacted my parents immediately earlier because I was busy reaching out to Jasmine.

Mike tried to maintain his composure as he explained to Jasmine, "Jas, I was just joking around with her. How could I possibly marry her? She's the shameless one, clinging to me."

Jasmine pulled out screenshots of their chat history: "Oh really? Then all these times you called her 'baby' were just dog barks!"

"And that man in the photos hugging Jennie and making wishes - was that a dog too?"

Looking at the screenshots and videos, Mike continued to argue,
